ILLiad @ H Electronic Delivery Information
ILLiad @ H offers the convenient option of accessing PDFs of requested journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers directly from your personal computer. Documents can be viewed online or printed within 30 days of receipt, at which point they are removed from our server for copyright compliance purposes. Electronic delivery is only available for items that are delivered to us electronically from the lending library; copies received via fax or mail cannot be accessed from your ILLiad @ H account.
How do I sign up for electronic delivery?
When completing the New User Registration form, choose Yes for Electronic Delivery of Copies Preferred. If you have already registered and originally chose No, you can edit your selection within the Update Account section on the ILLiad @ H Main Menu.
How do I know if I can open electronic documents on my computer?
Adobe Acrobat Reader will need to be installed and configured to work with your web browser in order to view, download, and print electronically delivered material. If you can read this test page, then your computer has the necessary software installed to work with your browser. If your computer tells you the file type is unknown and asks if you want to save the file to disk, then you need to install the Adobe Acrobat Reader software available for free from Adobe Systems, Inc.
How do I get my documents when they arrive?
Log on to your ILLiad @ H account and click the Available Articles link within the View category on the Main Menu. A list will be displayed containing all of the requests that are accessible to you. Click the View link next to the Transaction Number to open the PDF of the document.
What if my request can't be delivered electronically?
If you're a student, we'll send you an email to let you know that your material has arrived and you can pick it up at the Mortensen Library circulation desk. If you're a faculty or staff member, we'll send it to your departmental mailbox via intercampus mail.
What if I don't want electronic delivery?
If you are a student and would prefer to pick up your printed document at the Mortensen Library circulation desk, or are a faculty or staff member and would prefer to have your printed document mailed to your office, choose No for Electronic Delivery of Copies Preferred when completing the New User Registration form. If you have already registered and originally chose Yes, you can edit your selection within the Update Account section on the ILLiad @ H Main Menu.
