What can I request through ScanIt @ H?
You can request book chapters and journal articles from Allen and Mortensen libraries' print and microform collections.
What isn't available through ScanIt @ H?
Copies from material in special collections, including Archives and Reserves, copies of sheet music or scores, and items longer than 30 pages in length can't be requested through ScanIt @ H. Please visit the library and use one of our scanners or photocopiers to make your copy.
How do I know if the Libraries own something I need?
Check our catalog to see if we own a book or journal volume in print or on microform. If you're looking for an article, be sure to check our online journals as well to find out if we have access to the title-you may be able to get a PDF of an article on your own immediately.
Are there any copyright restrictions on material I request through ScanIt @ H?
Yes, US Copyright laws apply to copies the library supplies through ScanIt @ H and what we post for your use can't be copied or distributed to others. Please note that copyright law prevents us from supplying copies of multiple articles from a single journal issue or multiple chapters from a single book.
How do I place a ScanIt @ H request?
ScanIt @ H requests are placed through ILLiad @ H. Complete a Journal Article or Book Chapter request form. At the top of the request form, you'll see a link to our catalog; right click it to open up a new tab or window. Copy and paste the book or journal title in the search box, change the search type from Keywords to Title, and click the Go button. If you get a result that matches what you're looking for, click to see if the volume or year you need is something that we should have on the shelf. If it is, go back to the request form and for the field 'Is this a ScanIt @ H request', select 'Yes'.
How will ScanIt @ H requests be delivered?
ScanIt @ H requests will be electronically delivered to your ILLiad @ H account. You'll receive an email notification that the PDF of the item you requested is available to view. You can print or save a copy for your research. The PDF will be deleted by the system 30 days from the posting date. You can read more about electronic delivery on the Electronic Delivery Information page.
